By Steve Lansdale
University of Texas football fans are invited to get their first look at the 2015 Longhorns when the program hosts 2015 Texas Football Fan Day Sunday, Aug. 9 at Darrel K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Beginning at 12 p.m., fans will have access to photo ops with Bevo XIV, Smokey the Cannon, Texas Cheer and Pom, Hook ’Em, AirHorn, and weather permitting, the world’s largest Hook ’Em inflatable. (continued below...)
(...continued from above.) Following practice, 2015 UT players and assistant coaches will be signing autographs in the Red McCombs Red Zone from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Fans will be provided with commemorative 18-by-24-inch posters (limit one per person) for the autographs; per NCAA rules, the sale of posters with student-athlete autographs is prohibited. In addition, no other items — t-shirts, ticket stubs, footballs, helmets, etc. — maybe be brought in for autographs, and photos with players and assistant coaches are not permitted. All autographs and activities are free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans may access the Red McCombs Red Zone after the open practice, beginning at 12 p.m., through Gates 8, 14, 16 or 25.
Photos with second-year head coach Charlie Strong will be taken by Texas athletic department personnel, and fans will receive information on how to download the on-line photos free of charge.
Free parking is available in the Manor, San Jacinto and Trinity garages, as well as lots 37, 38, 39 and 70. Parking lots open at 7 a.m.
The Longhorns will open the season Sept. 5 in South Bend, Ind., against Notre Dame.
