Flying through the air on numerous occasions, Fields tallied 29 total kills in the Longhorns’ two wins last week to start the 2019 season. First she registered 15 kills to go with two blocks in the 3-1 win over Northern Iowa and she tallied another 14 kills with three blocks in the huge win over No. 14 USC. Both marks were second on the squad as Texas showed its ability to play big and dominate when it needed to.

After the first two matches, Fields holds the second-best hitting percentage in the Big 12 Conference at .520 and is eighth overall in kills-per-set at 3.63.
Fields has formed a formidable trio along with returning outside hitters senior Micaya White and sophomore Logan Eggleston. Eggleston currently leads Texas with 31 kills, while White is right behind her at 30 just ahead of Field’s 29.

Now the Longhorns have another early-season showdown with No. 8 Minnesota on coming to Gregory Gym Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start time.
The Golden Gophers began the season ranked No. 3 in the AVCA Division I Week 1 Coaches Poll but fell to No. 8 after losing in three sets to then-unranked Florida State. The Seminoles entered the poll at No. 22 this week, while both Stanford and Nebraska retained their No. 1 and No. 2 rankings, respectively.
