FINAL SCORE: UT TOWERS

The National Champion UT Volleyball Team gets its portrait in front of the UT Tower with a 1 on all sides.

The 2012 National Champion Texas volleyball team gathered for a portrait in front of the UT Tower, lit completely orange with the number one displayed on all sides in their honor, Jan. 15. “It  set in for us tonight,” sophomore outside hitter Haley Eckerman said. “We didn’t celebrate as a team after winning [the national championship].” Many of the players went straight home from the site of the National Championship match to spend the winter holiday with their families; therefore the celebration took place nearly a month after Texas beat Oregon in the NCAA Final. “We lit that tower,” junior outside hitter Bailey Webster said. “Every team talks about doing that, and we actually did.”
