GOLF WORLD/ Nike Golf Men released its Division I Preseason Coaches’ Poll Aug. 29, and Texas appeared in the No. 2 position on the list. The Longhorns enter the 2012-13 season on the heels of claiming their third national title in program history, and the first since 1972.

starting lineup, including sophomore All-American and Big 12 Conference Player of the Year Jordan Spieth. Seniors Julio Vegas, Cody Gribble and junior Toni Hakula return as well, rounding out the veteran squad that won eight team titles last season.
Last year’s National runner-up Alabama claimed the top spot in the preseason poll with 13 of the 23 available first-place votes. California, UCLA and Washington came in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
