23 days until the 2013-2014 Texas Football Season kicks off against New Mexico State!
Former Texas Longhorn quarterback legend Vince Young signed a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday. Head coach Mike McCarthy brought Young in for a workout on Monday and liked what they saw. Young will be competing with Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman for the backup spot behind starter Aaron Rodgers.

Young should also help the Packers prepare for their opening two regular season games against San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick, and Washington’s Robert Griffin III by running the scout team.
Young is expected to play Friday in the Packer’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Texas Longhorns opened their first fall practice on Monday. Longhorn fans will have three opportunities to get a first-hand look at the 2013 team.
Three open practices will be on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. With all practices being held at Denius Fields.
Defending national champion Texas was unanimously selected as the 2013 preseason favorite to win the Big 12 Conference volleyball title on Wednesday. Texas has been picked at the top of the preseason poll for the past three seasons and six times overall (1996, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013).
The University of Texas basketball team will have at least nine of its 18 Big 12 Conference games televised nationally during the 2013-14 regular season.
