AUSTIN, Texas — Multiple media outlets, including Bleacher Report and The Vertical, are reporting that former Texas guard Isaiah Taylor has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Rockets after not getting chosen in Thursday’s 2016 NBA Draft.
Taylor, who declared himself eligible after his junior season at Texas, finished his UT career ranked seventh in school history with 415 career assists, and 20th in scoring with 1,254 points. He started 92 games in his career, averaging 13.6 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Taylor earned first-team All-Big 12 honors last season, and was named to the NABC All-District 8 and USBWA All-District VII teams.
The Longhorns’ leader in points (15.0 per game), assists (5.0) and minutes played (30.9 per game), Taylor also tied for the team lead in steals, with 29. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.69-1 last year was the third-best single-season mark in program history.
