IRVING, Texas — Texas midfielder Julia Grosso was named to the 2020 Preseason All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced Thursday. The team was selected through a vote by conference coaches, who were prohibited from voting for players on their own teams.

Grosso, who also earned preseason all-conference honors before the 2019 season, tied Haley Berg for the team lead with eight goals in 2019; her 24 total points fell one shy of equaling Berg for the team high. Her eight goals tied her for eighth in the Big 12, and her eight assists tied for fifth in the conference. She was an incredibly efficient shooter last season, scoring her eight goals on just 15 shots on goal.

Her sophomore campaign ended with her earning third-team United Soccer Coaches All-America honors. She also made the Canadian roster for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Texas Tech and defending regular-season champion Oklahoma State each have three selections, while TCU have two and Texas, West Virginia and Kansas have one each.
