Who do you like to win the wide-open Big 12?
Kirk Herbstreit: I picked Oklahoma State … the Pokes … because I think their defense is going to improve from where they’ve been the last few years. But there’s something about Texas. I look at Texas and there’s 19 returning starters. They’ve got a veteran quarterback in David Ash. They’ve got playmakers around him. I think they’re the wild-card in this thing. I gotta believe Mack Brown’s gonna [s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)] get this team to play with a bit of a chip on their shoulders. If they go to Provo and they beat BYU, and the turn around the next week and beat Ole Miss at home, they become instantly a dangerous team, not only in the Big 12, but on the national landscape. They have a chance to catch fire if they win their first three. On the other hand, if they were to lose at BYU, now all of a sudden you’re talking about a team that could implode. Texas, to me, is one of the most intriguing stories of this season.
