While leading the Longhorns in rushing during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Malcolm Brown was known for his toughness.

He showed that hard-nosed running style on Monday Night Football as he bullied his way across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Los Angeles Rams a 17-3 lead over the Chicago Bears early in the third quarter.

Brown’s performance of rushing for 57 yards and that touchdown on 10 carries highlighted the performances of former Texas players in Week 7 of the NFL.

Brown is currently in his sixth year in the league, all with the Rams.

It was an otherwise quiet weekend for ex-Longhorns, with many players injured or on bye weeks.

Arizona linebacker Jordan Hicks and New England safety Adrian Phillips both continued solid seasons for their respective clubs, as each player had seven tackles, Hicks playing against Seattle and Phillips against San Francisco.

Seattle cornerback Quandre Diggs made an interception and three stops against the Cardinals, with his teammate, defensive tackle Poona Ford recording three tackles. Seahawks punter Michael Dickson had three kicks for 153 yards with a long of 66 and one pinned inside the 20.

Tennessee safety Kenny Vaccaro had four stops against Pittsburgh, while Jacksonville wide receiver Collin Johnson had one catch for 13 yards against the Chargers.

Philadelphia defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway made two tackles against the New York Giants, and New Orleans defensive tackle Malcom Brown, Houston defensive end Charles Omenihu and Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Malik Jefferson each had one stop against the Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively, to round out the former Texas players' performances.
