Men’s basketball falls, 68-54, to Colorado in Legends Classic

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Sophomore guard Kerwin Roach, Jr., scored a team-leading 16 points, and freshman forward/center Jarrett Allen added 15 and pulled down six rebounds, but their efforts were not enough Tuesday as the No. 22/21 Texas men’s basketball team fell, 68-54, to Colorado in the consolation game of the Legends Classic at Barclays Center.
The loss dropped the Longhorns to 3-2, in large part because of their inability to connect from behind the three-point line, hitting just three of their 17 shots from behind the arc. Overall, the Longhorns connected on 21 of 57 shots from the floor (36.8 percent).
Colorado improved to 4-1 on the season.
UT lost the battle on the boards, pulling down 32 rebounds, compared to Colorado’s 41. The Longhorns played without freshman center James Banks, who sat out the game after getting ejected from the team’s previous game.
