COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Incoming University of Texas freshman Myles Turner posted nine points, five rebounds and two blocked shots to help Team USA to a 90-56 victory against Dominican Republic in the semifinal round of the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship on Monday evening. Turner started the game and converted 2-of-2 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws in 17 minutes of action.

With his two blocked shots in Monday’s victory, Turner set a USA U18 competition record with 14 total blocks. The previous mark was 13 set by both Tim Young and Shareef Abdur-Rahim in the 1994 FIBA Americas Junior World Championship Qualifier.
