AUSTIN, Texas — On CFB Bowl selection Sunday, Texas Football was ranked #20 then selected to represent the Big 12 Conference in the Valero Alamo Bowl against No. 12 Washington.

This is Texas’ fifth time in the Alamo Bowl and the 58th bowl all-time. The last time was in 2020, Sam Ehlinger was quarterback, freshman Bijan Robinson was named the offensive MVP, and DeMarvion Overshown named defensive MVP. Texas was ranked #20 back then too.

Will the team that plays on Dec. 29 look more like next seasons team since, DeMarvion Overshown, Roschon Johnson, Keondre Coburn, More Ojomo, T’Vondre Sweat, Christian Jones are likely going to be trying for the NFL, so will they still play in the bowl game?

How about Xavier Worthy, Hudson Card, Bijan Robinson? Most likely these three will need to declare prior if they are staying in Texas or moving on.

Robinson, while not officially announced yet, will likely be drafted to the NFL. Worthy and Card — well let’s just say they probably will be making an announcement soon.

This is the time of the year when college football resembles a blender that was just turned on and ingredients are getting mixed, tossed out of the bowl, blended, and combined to make something great. Next season!
