No. 35 Women’s Tennis shuts out Kansas State, 4-0
MANHATTAN, Kan. – No. 35 Texas (8-5, 1-1 Big 12) went unbeaten in the doubles session and finished off three straight-sets singles wins as the Longhorns posted a 4-0 win over Kansas State (7-7, 0-2 Big 12) Sunday afternoon.
Texas won both doubles decisions to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. UT senior Lana Groenvynck joined freshman Katie Poluta to post a 6-1 win over K-State's Maria Panaite and Palma Juhasz at third doubles.
The Longhorns locked up the doubles point at the first position, where Addison and sophomore Dani Wagland dealt Ana Garcia Navas and Millie Stretton a 6-4 defeat.
Wagland pushed the Texas lead to 2-0 with her 6-1, 6-2 win over Stretton at third singles. Addison notched a 6-2, 6-3 win over Navas at first singles, and UT junior Neda Koprcina clinched the Texas team win by way of her 6-2, 6-3 win over Carolina Costamagna at second singles.
The remaining courts were not contested.

For the second straight match, we succeeded in underwhelming with our doubles play. And in spite of having to play each of our last two matches on very fast indoor courts, it is an area that demands improvement and our attention. The singles matches were probably tougher than the scores would suggest. Bree, Neda and Dani were characteristically ferocious in closing out our first Big 12 win.
