No. 6 Texas ready to haunt TCU (w/ video)

No. 6 Texas sported costumes as they got in gear for the game and in the mood for the evening.

As for the game on the hardwood tonight, the Longhorns (14-4, 9-1) lead the all-time series against the Horned Frogs (12-9, 4-6) 15-1, including 8-0 at home.

♦ Texas defeated Oklahoma, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-23) for its third-straight sweep. Junior Micaya White led the Longhorns in kills for the 14th time this season and fifth-straight match with 13 (.344), while freshman Logan Eggleston also finished in double-digit kills with 10 (.227). Sophomore Ashley Shook had 31 aces, seven digs, and four kills, freshman Sydney Petersen led Texas with 13 digs, and senior Yaazie Bedart-Ghani posted a team-high four blocks. [place_ad_1]
♦ Through nine conference matches, White leads Texas with 148 kills (4.00/set), hitting .325, with Eggleston not far behind at 115 kills (3.11/set), hitting .263. Shook has 387 assists (10.46/set), Petersen has 145 digs (3.92/set), freshman Brionne Butler leads with 48 blocks (1.30/set), and senior Morgan Johnson has 41 blocks (1.11/set). Eggleston and Petersen lead the Horns in service aces, with eight apiece (0.22/set).
♦ Petersen has 40 digs in the last three matches for 4.44/set. That is the highest mark for digs per set in a single season in Texas Volleyball history (Cat McCoy averaged 4.41 digs per set in 2017).
♦ The Longhorns rank sixth overall in NCAA Division I in hitting percentage (.295), led by Butler (.370, No. 39) and Johnson (.349, No. 77).
♦ Texas ranks second in NCAA Division I in strength of schedule with a 14-4 record, only behind Southern California (16-7).
