Texas JACK Joseph Ossai earned Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honors, as well as similar awards from the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy, as his 12-tackle, three-sack performance in UT's win at Oklahoma State (photo courtesy of the Football Writers Association of America).

The Football Writers Association of America named Joseoph Ossai as the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week Nov. 3.

He earned the award after turning in inarguably the best game of his UT career, when he piled up 12 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and one forced fumble recovery in Saturday's 41-34 overtime win at No. 6 Oklahoma State.

Players are selected each week, and this is the fourth time since 2014 a Texas player has earned the award.

Ossai capped off his performance against OSU by sacking quarterback Spencer Sanders on fourth down on the game's final play. For his efforts, he also earned National Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

I like exploring the why's and have three objectives. First is to give value to those who would spend time with our content. Second is to be respectful of others and for the opportunity to tell a positive story about all of the Texas Longhorns teams, players, and coaches regardless of their record. Lastly, to put wind in the sails of others using the Horns Illustrated platform. Life is GOOD!
