Papapetrou leads Greece to 75-61 win against Georgia at U20 European Championships

TALLIN, Estonia
 — University of Texas sophomore forward Ioannis Papapetrou posted a team-high 15 points to lead Greece to a 75-61 win against Georgia in pool play action on Friday at the Sportland Under-20 European Championship. Papapetrou converted 7-of-14 field goals and added three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 30 minutes of action.

Through the first three games of the tourney, Papapetrou leads the team in scoring (15.0 ppg) and ranks second in rebounding (5.0 rpg). He also is tied for second on the squad in minutes played (32.0 mpg) and has converted 19-of-39 (.487) field goals.

With Friday’s victory, Greece improved to 3-0 in Group A pool play and will face Lithuania on Saturday for the top spot in Group A. Classification and medal round play will begin on Monday, July 15 and the tournament runs through Sunday, July 21.
