Texas Longhorns Football Adonai Mitchell reception wins the game

Texas dominated TCU in the first half scoring 26 points by the half. The third quarter was a punt-fest for both teams and then TCU responded with three back-to-back touchdowns to come within a field goal of evening the score at 29 all.

The silver lining for Texas was Bert Auburn 49 yard field goal early in the 4th quarter that gave Texas 29 points.

After TCU’s last touchdown, Texas struggled. First with a holding penalty that pushed Texas back to their nine yard line making it 2nd and 16. CJ Baxter rushed for four yards to make it 3rd down and 12 yards for a first down. TCU stops the clock with a timeouit so they could make sure how to play Texas. If TCU stops them from getting a first down, Texas would have to punt to go for it on fourth down which was had been the gutsest call since Texas was on their 13 yard line.

Out of the time Quinn Ewers throws a deep ball 35 yards to the left, Adonai Mitchell was in full stride, he had beaten his man, but then pulls up, turns to his right, and plops down, opened his arms and let Ewers’ pass fall into his arms. First down Texas.

Texas was able to run out the clock and win the game 29-26.
