OMAHA, Nebraska – No. 2 Texas Longhorns (48-16) beats No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers (50-18) in the elimination game at the College World Series. Texas bats and smart defense were to much for Tennessee Vols giving Texas the win 8-4.

Mississippi State tops Texas, 2-1, in CWS pitchers’ duel
OMAHA, Nebraska – No. 2 Texas and No. 7 Mississippi State had a pitching battle in front of 23,885 at TD Ameritrade Park that looked like something out of a Western movie. Both pitchers came out with guns a blazing setting a College World Series record with the most combined strikeouts in history (33). Texas, designated the home team, was barely defeated 1-2 in a game that went to the bottom of the ninth, winning runners on first and third with two outs.
