Texas handles Kansas 40-14

Texas Football was all business against Kansas racking up 661-yards of total offense by controlling the ball for almost 40 of the 60 minute game in the 40-14 win.

Over 11 drives, Texas never punted once. They also had their fifth three-consecutive touchdown drives. If this was chess it would be called ‘3-Check’. That’s where a player wins the game in 3 moves and called “checkmate.”

Before the three-consecutive touchdown drives, the score was close. Going into halftime, Texas was up 13-7 and Kansas kept it close up until late in the third quarter when Jonathon Brooks capped off a five play drive with a one-yard touchdown run.

Brooks would run the ball only three times in the fourth quarter for a total of 15-yards, which is incredible considering Brooks ended the night with 217-yards on 20 carries that included two touchdowns. What that means is Brooks rushed for 202-yards in three quarters, the longest a 67-yard rush to start the second quarter.
