Texas (No. 3 Golfweek) has earned the top seed at the 14-team NCAA South Central Regional Championship to be held at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. One of six NCAA regional events held across the country, the 54-hole event is set to run May 16-18.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the May 28-June 2 NCAA Championship at Capital City Club in Atlanta.

Texas, the 2012 NCAA Champion, has been ranked among the nation’s top-five teams all year and most recently claimed the program’s fourth Big 12 Championship last month at Prairie Dunes. Entering the NCAA postseason, the Longhorns have won three straight events and five overall.

Texas has successfully advanced from the NCAA regional to the NCAA Championship in each of the last six seasons. The Longhorns finished second at the 2012 NCAA Southwest Regional Championship in Norman, Okla., before winning the program’s third NCAA Championship at Riviera Country Club.
