AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Soccer's goalkeeper Abby Smith and the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team managed a 2-0-1 record in securing the title at the Four Nations Tournament over May 27-31 in Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg, Norway.

Sweden finished second in the event behind the Americans followed by Norway in third and England in fourth. (Continue reading below...)

(...Continued from above) Smith started and played all 90 minutes while making one save in Team USA's event-opening, 2-1 victory over Sweden on May 27. Fellow goalkeeper Jane Campbell drew the remaining action between the pipes for the Red, White & Blue during match-ups against Norway (T, 2-2) and England (W, 2-1).

Team USA's 22-player roster included 19 collegiate players in addition to three current professionals, all of whom currently play outside the United States: Daphne Corboz (Manchester City), Chioma Ubogagu (Arsenal) and Kate Stengel (Bayern Munich). Smith joined Ubogagu and Stengel as part of the U.S. U-20 team that won the championship at the 2012 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Japan.

This marks Smith's second Four Nations Tournament crown as part of the U.S. Under-23 squad after helping Team USA to the event title back in 2013. During that run, the Plano, Texas, native shutout Sweden and made three saves during a victory over England.

Here are some video highlights of Smith and Team USA vs. Sweden:
