AUSTIN, Texas – A perfect 4-0 week that included a win over North Texas and a dominant league road sweep of Iowa State has helped Texas softball (37-14, 10-7 Big 12 Conference) climb back into the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll at No. 25 according to Tuesday's release of the May 10th national rankings by ASA/USA Softball.

Among those receiving votes throughout the campaign, the last time the Longhorns were ranked was also at No. 25 in the March 8th issue of the weekly listing. UT is currently riding a five-game winning streak and has won 10 of its last 11 contests dating back to April 22.

Texas is one of three Big 12 programs to land among the most recent edition of the top 25 as Oklahoma sits in a tie for fourth, while Baylor holds down the No. 16 position.

The Burnt Orange & White are coming off a powerful sweep of Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, over May 6-8. During the three-game series, the Longhorns offense batted .476 (40-for-84) as a team, managed 18 extra-base hits, including 10 HR's, and slugged at a .929 clip while outscoring the Cyclones overall by a 39-5 count.

UT will close out its 2016 regular season and also celebrate "Senior Day" for its five seniors, Lindsey Stephens, Holly Kern, Rachel Scott, Erin Shireman and Stephanie Ceo, on Sat., May 14, at 8 p.m. CT by hosting No. 16 Baylor.
