Senior Taylor Thom headlined the 19-6 game one victory with her second grand slam of the season. Sophomore Lindsey Stephens also led the Longhorns with two home runs. Stephens went 3-for-4 in game one with four runs and five RBIs.  Texas matched its season high of 19 runs, the second time in five games. In addition, Texas produced eight runs in the top of the second inning, the most in a single inning all season.

The offense was much more subdued in game two with the Longhorns winning the game 2-0 off a two run home run by senior Mandy Ogle in the top of the seventh inning.

In game three, the Longhorns finished with a season-high 18 hits and defeated the Cyclones 17-1, earning the series sweep. Thom finished the game with another home run, her eighth of the season, and went 3-for-3 at the plate. Senior Karina Scott hit her first home run in the fourth inning and finished with five RBIs.

Sophomore Stephanie Ceo also contributed with a home run, her second of the year, and went 2-for-2 at the plate.

Freshman Tiarra Davis started in the circle for all three games of the series, pitching a complete game during game two. Davis now has a 13-7 record for the season and has started the past 11 games.

In game one, Davis pitched one inning before being relieved by junior Gabby Smith in the second inning with the Longhorns up 9-0 so that Davis would have energy to start in game two. Smith threw for just over two innings, earning the win and improving to 11-4 for the season.

In game two, Davis gave up only three hits while striking out seven. Game three was another complete effort by Davis who struck out two and allowed only one unearned run in the contest. She finished game three having only given up four hits.

The Longhorns will travel this week to Norman to face the Oklahoma Sooners, the defending Big 12 and National Champions. The first game is scheduled for Thursday night at 8 p.m.
