Texas in the Big Dance
• Texas Women's Basketball is making its 28th NCAA Championship appearance, including the sixth in the last seven seasons.
• The Longhorns have appeared the NCAA Championship field in 28 of 32 seasons, since the NCAA Women's Championship began in 1983.
• UT is a No. 5 seed for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall.
• Last season, Texas advanced to the NCAA Championship Second Round in College Park, Maryland, defeating No. 12 seed Penn and losing to No. 3 seed Maryland.

Series vs. WKU
• Texas Women's Basketball and WKU will meet for the seventh time in program history (Texas leads, 6-2) and third time in NCAA Championship competition (tied, 1-1).
• The Hilltoppers are the second-most common opponent for the Longhorns in NCAA postseason play, trailing only Louisiana Tech (6).
• The last time Texas and WKU met in the NCAA tournament was the 1986 Final Four in Lexington -- a 90-65 Texas victory. The Longhorns went on to capture their first NCAA title that year, becoming the sport's first undefeated national champions (36-0).

Karen Aston in the Big Dance
• In her third season as head coach of the Texas Women's Basketball team, Karen Aston is leading Texas to the NCAA Championship for the second time. This is her third appearance in the Big Dance as a head coach, previously taking Charlotte in 2008-09.
• Aston helped guide the Longhorns to the 2003 Final Four as an associate head coach on Hall of Fame coach Jody Conradt's staff.
