Texas Women’s Basketball Set to Host Alumni Game and Iowa State This Weekend

The Texas Women's Basketball Team will host the Alumni game Saturday and the continue Big 12 Conference play against Iowa State on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday Longhorns women's basketball player past and present will gather at the Erwin Center to play the Alumni game at2 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibition game rosters are expected to include players from the 80's, 90's and 00, including Longhorn Legend Fran Harris who helped lead the 1986 team to Texas' first women's basketball NCAA title.

On Sunday the Longhorns (15-7, 6-4 Big 12) continue Big 12 play against Iowa State (16-6, 5-6 Big 12) at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Erwin Center. Texas enters the game having trounced Texas Tech 88-51 on Wednesday night at the Drum.

GAMEDAY ACTIVITIES

  • Player Trading Card Series: Don't miss collecting the final set of the 2013-14 commemorative Texas Women's Basketball trading cards given away to the first 750 fans.
  • Longhorns Kids Court: Kids 8th grade and under can enjoy inflatables, face painting, basketball goals, and more in Denton Cooley Pavilion, presented by Southwest Dairy Farmers. Opens 90 minutes before tipoff.
  • Fast Break: Join Texas Women's Basketball for a postgame wrap-up in the Lone Star Room (open to all fans).
  • Canned Food Drive:  Help Texas Women's Basketball collect 500 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Central Texas community and get a FREE Whataburger coupon while supplies last.

Purchase tickets online, by calling 512-471-3333, or at the Erwin Center box office on gameday. Tickets are $12 reserved, $8 adult general admission, or $6 seniors/youth general admission.
