Women’s basketball game against Tennessee postponed

AUSTIN, Texas — Just hours before tip-off, the highly anticipated showdown between the Texas women's basketball team and Tennessee was postponed due to "contact tracing issues within the Texas program," per a statement from the Texas Athletics Department.

The contest, scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, was set to be one of Texas' biggest non-conference battles of the season, and the Longhorns' final tune-up before the start of conference play, which is scheduled for Dec. 17 against Kansas in Austin.

It is unknown if the game will be rescheduled, according to the press release.

Texas (4-1) is currently ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press poll.
