CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Texas Women’s Golf rising junior Natalie Karcher has been named to the 2014 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced on Wednesday. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 being required for selection.
A marketing major with a 3.77 cumulative GPA, Karcher also earned a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 Women’s Golf First Team earlier this year for her performance in the classroom.
On the course, Karcher led the Longhorns with a career-best tie for second place at the 2014 Big 12 Championship. Throughout the season, she was Texas’ low player at four events, including the NCAA Central Regional Championship.
