That’s weird, Texas State beats Texas at home 5-3

A sleepy Tuesday night game. The weather sure was great, lots of fans, actually you could almost say it was packed at Disch Falk field.

No. 5 Texas Baseball had only lost three games all season, so this feels weird to see Texas get caught sleeping and taking a lost to Texas State…at home.

Will Gasparino put Texas on the scoreboard in the fourth with a smash to Yeti yard with his sixth home run in the past five games and his 10th of the season.

Texas State’s eight inning four runs were enough stun Texas and keep them from coming back.

Kade Bing started on the mound for Texas and had an outstanding five innings. Bing threw 63 pitches, 40 were strikes, and he faced 18 batters striking out 2.

We asked Bing in post game of his 40 strikes what is his favorite pitch. With a smile Bing replied, “I like all of them.”

Coach Schlossnagle said when we asked if he had to play Texas State again tomorrow what would he change, “Nothing, I would not change anything about the game plan. We just had some bad at bats.”

Next up is Georgia who is 28-2 losing to only UNC Wilmington and Kentucky. First game of the series Friday night 6:30pm at Disch Falk.
