AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas defense continues to get healthier. It received more good news this week when starting safety Chris Brown was cleared to play against the Cyclones.

“He brings [s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)]more energy, and brings that urge and want,” defensive tackle Keondre Coburn said of Brown. “He plays sideline to sideline and you see him everywhere. To add another great piece to our defense is amazing, to have everybody back. That’s something you want in every game, so to have it late in the season is great.”

The personnel Texas will field against Iowa State will be dramatically different than it was even just three weeks ago.

Thanks in part to the return of a few starters back against K-State, UT’s defense held the Wildcats to 304 yards of total offense.

“The defense started going down because of injuries,” Coburn said. “Injuries do a big thing to the team, and to get everybody back, you see what it does when we get healthy.”
