Texas-Ex Laura Sogar qualifies for 200m Breaststroke Finals at World University Games

KAZAN, Russia – Texas-Ex Laura Sogar placed fourth in the 200-meter breaststroke semifinals and qualified for the finals Saturday on the fourth day of swimming at the World University Games.

Representing the United States, Sogar took second place in her semifinal heat at 2 minutes, 27.19 seconds to qualify fourth overall for Sunday’s finals.  Russia’s Iulia Efimova, the World University Games’ gold medalist in the 100m breaststroke, qualified first in 2:24.71.

Sogar, who won bronze on Friday in the 100m breaststroke, will compete in the 200m breaststroke finals Sunday at 10:33 a.m. CT.  Live video will be available to subscribers of ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN mobile application.  Longhorn Network will air Sunday’s finals on a tape-delayed basis beginning at 4 p.m. CT.
