Anderson, Bromberg win mixed platform synchro at USA Diving Nationals

brombergGREENSBORO, N.C. – Texas sophomore divers Mark Anderson and Murphy Bromberg became the first U.S. national champions in the mixed synchronized platform diving event Thursday evening at the USA Diving Synchronized National Championships.  The win for Anderson and Bromberg lands them a berth on the U.S. roster at this summer's FINA World Championships to be contested in Kazan, Russia.

All-Americans in platform diving at their respective NCAA Championship meets this year, Anderson and Bromberg totaled 304.26 points in Thursday's final and won the event handily by over 50 points.

Anderson and Bromberg totaled a meet-best 72.96 points on their fifth and final dive, an inward three-and-a-half somersault.

Anderson earns his first FINA World Championships berth while Bromberg collects her second berth after competing at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
