NCAA drops Texas Men’s Basketball to seventh
AUSTIN, Texas - This is not a good day for Texas. The city woke up to a heavy fog that has not lifted as of 1:17 p.m. and now more bad new as the NCAA ranking came out and drops Texas from No. 2 to No. 7.
There are three undefeated teams No. 1 Purdue (10-0), No. 2 Virginia (8-0), and No. 3 UConn (11-0). Alabama moved up from eight to No. 4 and moved up up one position to No. 6.
Texas plays Rice tonight Dec. 12 with a 7 p.m. CT start time. Assistant head coach Rodney Terry will potentially be the acting head coach as Chris Beard is away on family matters and will likely miss tonight's game. Terry has over 27 years of collegiate coaching experience that includes nine years with Texas from 2002-11 during the Rick Barnes era. Texas also went to the final four in 2003.
