No. 1 Texas Volleyball sweeps into 35th appearance of NCAA Regional Semifinals

AUSTIN, Texas — For the 17th time this season, No. 1 Texas Volleyball sweeps their opponent 3-0. The last two were Fairleigh Dickinson and Georgia in the NCAA Championship First and Second Rounds.
Texas now hosts Marquette on Dec. 8 (Thu) for the NCAA Regional Semifinal in Austin, Texas at famed Gregory Gym. Texas is undefeated at Gregory Gym this season and it will be two days shy of a year since Texas has lost at home when they played Nebraska in last year's NCAA Regional.
Round One
Texas had their best hitting percentage of the seasons against Fairleigh Dickinson hitting .535, plus a season-high 13 service aces.
Texas players Madisen Skinner, Asjia O’Neal, Logan Eggleston continued their warrior status. Skinner had 10 kills, O’Neal and Eggleston had nine each. O’Neal wreaked havoc with a hitting percentage of .615 and five blocks.
Round Two
No. 1 Texas Volleyball had a hitting percentage of .366 and held Georgia to .079. Texas also had eight blocks and nine service aces.
The 2022 Big 12 Player of the Year, Logan Eggleston had nine kills and tied her career high five service aces (her 7th time doing so) while hitting .389. Eggleston now has 337 kills this season and 1,851 in her career.
Kentucky transfer sophomore Madisen Skinner from Katy, Texas played an outstanding match with nine kills and hitting .364. Skinner has 291 kills this season.
In each of the three sets Texas allowed Georgia to play close for about 10 points, then unleashed a torrent of unstoppable runs that never allowed Georgia back into the match.
