Sam Ehlinger named starting quarterback

Monday across the football planet, teams have press conferences to discuss what they saw over the weekend and what they are planning for the week ahead to prepare for the next opponent.

In a monumental move, Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich announced at his press conference, "We are going to elevate Sam Ehlinger to be the starting quarterback."

After losing to the Tennessee Titans 19-10, Reich made the change saying Matt Ryan had a grade 2 shoulder separation and will not practice this week and continued by saying they would have made change regardless.

Ehlinger will start against the Washington Commanders on Sep 30 (Sun) at 4:25 PM EST that will be aired on FOX and will be played in the stadium Peyton Manning build - Lucas Oil Stadium.

How appropriate that Peyton Manning was at Texas training Ehlinger just before his freshman season started and now Ehlinger will be the starting quarterback for the first time in the NFL in "The House Manning Built".

We all can find cause to celebrate when one of our own rises up and achieves something so great only a few get to know, though many Longhorns have. Seems like only yesterday we cheered on Sam, cried with Sam, and raised our collective Horns to say 'Thank You' for being Texas' QB1.
