Texas has earned a No. 11 national seed and will host NCAA Championship first- and second-round matches on Friday and Saturday, May 11-12 at UT’s Penick-Allison Tennis Center.  The Horns will host NCAA first- and second-round matches for the first time since 2005, when Texas reached the NCAA title match against Stanford.

Texas will open the NCAA Championship on May 11 at 1 p.m. Central against Missouri Valley Conference champion Wichita State (21-5).  Nebraska (23-3), who earned at at-large bid out of the Big 10 Conference, will meet Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas (18-6) on May 11 at 10 a.m. Central.  The first-round winners will meet on May 12 at 1 p.m. Central for the right to advance to the NCAA round of 16 at The University of Georgia.

Texas (17-7) earned an automatic bid into the field of 64 by way of its 4-2 victory over host Texas A&M on Sunday (April 29) at the Big 12 Championship.  The Longhorns opened the Big 12 Championship in Friday’s quarterfinals with a 4-1 win over Oklahoma State, who defeated the Horns just five days earlier.  Texas met Big 12 regular season champion Texas Tech in Saturday’s semifinals and claimed a 4-1 win over the top-seeded Lady Raiders.

Texas will make its 30th appearance at the NCAA Championship.  A two-time NCAA champion, UT holds a 42-27 overall record in the event.  The Longhorns captured NCAA team titles in 1993 and 1995.  UT finished as the NCAA runner-up in 1992 and 2005.

Texas defeated South Florida in the opening round of the 2011 NCAA Championship before falling to host Miami (Fla.) in the round of 32.
