AUSTIN, Texas — In the first round of the NCAA D1 Volleyball championship, it took Texas one hour and 24 minutes to sweep Sacred Heart 3-0 at Gregory Gym to a crowd of only 3,172 fans.  Texas moves to round two against Rice.

To reassure fans, teams, NCAA, and world, Logan Eggleston showed why she was Big 12 Player of the Year with 12 kills, six blocks, five digs, and two service aces.  Skylar Fields had 11 kills, Brionne Butler seven kills, Molly Phillips put down nine kills, Jhenna Gabriel put up 30 assists.

In the first set, Sacred Heart kept it close until the score was 10-8, then Texas unleashed a 7-0 run and dominated the rest of the match.

Super fans Jean Keeling and Scott Wilson were at Gregory Gym and our Jose Mendez captured the crowd and match.

Texas plays Rice in round two on Friday Dec 3 at 8 p.m.

I like exploring the why's and have three objectives. First is to give value to those who would spend time with our content. Second is to be respectful of others and for the opportunity to tell a positive story about all of the Texas Longhorns teams, players, and coaches regardless of their record. Lastly, to put wind in the sails of others using the Horns Illustrated platform. Life is GOOD!
