The first day of Fall 2014 classes on the Forty Acres promises to provide a spirited, Texas-style welcome to all students with the inaugural Horns Up Night, a trifecta of events for every Student Orange Blood! It all kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 5:45 p.m. when Texas Athletics hosts the Texas Kickoff Rally at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 5 p.m. and students should enter through Gates 14 or 16 on the north end of the stadium. The event is FREE for all UT students.

The Texas Kickoff Rally highlights UT's greatest traditions including live appearances by Texas Cheer and Pom, Bevo, Smokey the Cannon, Big Bertha, the Longhorn Marching Band, and the world's largest Texas flag! Get ready for a new era of Texas Football as head coach Charlie Strong addresses the upcoming season and introduces select football players. Televised live on Longhorn Network, this event is UT students' first opportunity to show Texas fans across the nation how passionate they are about the Longhorns.

Following the Texas Kickoff Rally, freshmen are invited onto the field to participate in the official Texas '18 Class Photo. This photo is the freshman class' opportunity to form the largest Longhorn ever on the field.

We'll see you on Aug. 27 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium!
