First half recap – Texas has rocky start with six penalties for 36 yards but manage to tie the game in the last minute before the half with a drive by Ewers that took 10 plays over 72 yards and a TOUCHDOWN by CJ Baxter who has seven carries for 53 yards.
Texas has 213 total yards, with 116 rushing and 97 passing. Compared to Washington’s 305 total yards with 255 yards passing and 50 rushing. Penix is a professional without a doubt. He is highly accurate.
The penalties have thrown Texas off their game. Texas thought continues to play like they have all season and are finds ways to succeed. Players are stepping up. The Texas defense has not been able to penetrate the Washington’s offensive line and get to Penix. A couple times they got close, but nothing to write about.
However, the Texas defense has been about to stop Washington at keys points in the game. Bryon Murphy stop on fourth down, then Jahdae Barron stop behind the line of game was momentum changers for Texas.
The second half, if Texas returns to precision play, should look different than in first half.

Pregame
The Superdome is mostly Texas Burnt Orange, though Washington holds about a third of the seats. As Texas Marching Band was about to play The Eyes of Texas, the crowd cheered as Michigan defeated Alabama in overtime 27-20. This means in a Texas win tonight, the National Championship will be truly to determine who the best team is.
