Running back Malcolm Brown, cornerback Quandre Diggs and defensive end Cedric Reed are representing the Texas Longhorns Football team on the 2014 Preseason All-Big 12 Football team, which was voted on by media covering the league.

All three seniors have received a number of preseason accolades after earning All-Big 12 honors last year. Diggs and Reed are on the watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronco Nagurski Trophy. Diggs is also the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, and Reed is a candidate for the Lott Trophy and Lombardi Award. Brown is on the watch list for the Maxwell Award.

Diggs, a native from Angleton, Texas, is a three-year starting cornerback who has tallied 168 career tackles, 32 pass breakups and eight interceptions. Last season, he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors after posting 58 tackles and a team-high 10 pass breakups.

Reed is coming off his best season, earning 2013 first-team All-Big 12 honors after posting 79 tackles, including 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles. The native of Cleveland, Texas, ranked third in the Big 12 and tied for 18th in the FBS in sacks (0.77 per game), and tied for second in the league and tied for fifth in the nation in forced fumbles (0.38 pg).

Brown posted a team-high 904 rushing yards in 2013, playing in all 13 games with four starts. He had a team-best nine rushing touchdowns on the season en route to first-team All-Big 12 honors. Heading into his final season, the Cibolo, Texas, native ranks No. 17 on the UT all-time rushing yards list (1,970).
