Texas Longhorns Recruiting: Longhorns Offer 5-Star Recruit J.K. Dobbins

Last Friday, the Texas Longhorns Recruiting efforts turned its attention to La Grange and 5-Star athlete J.K. Dobbins, officially offering him a chance to suit up in Burnt Orange. (Continue below...)

(...Continued from above.) For many, this offer was a long time coming and should have happened sooner. It was no secret that Dobbins was interested in playing for the Texas Longhorns, telling 247Sports in May:

“I’ve always been a big Texas fan. My whole family loves Texas too. They’ve been pushing me to go there. But I have to get an offer first. Really, it was my dream school growing up, and it’s still a dream school. I hope I do get the offer.”

Coach Strong has showed that he does things his way and usually with good reason. Whatever the reason for waiting on the offer, the important thing is that Dobbins got his offer from what sounds to be his top school.

J.K. Dobbins absolutely shines in the open field with the ball in his hand. At 5'9 - 190 lbs, he's not the biggest guy on the field, but he has a low center of gravity and strong legs that help him absorb contact and keep running. Throw in a 4.5 40-yard-dash and you have touchdown waiting to happen.(Continue below...)
