Texas Men’s Basketball leapfrogs to No. 4 in AP Top 25

As of Nov. 21, 2022, In a much anticipated announcement, Texas was ranked No. 4 after handing No. 2/2 Gonzaga their first loss of the season last week. The last time Texas was ranked this high was Jan 2021.

Texas has now scored a total of 1,450 points and remains undefeated (4-0) after winning against North Arizona 73-48 in the Leon Black Classic. UTRGV comes to Gregory Gym to play the second game of the classic Nov. 26 (Sat), then Texas hosts No. 10 Creighton on the Moody Center Dec. 1 (Thur) at 6 p.m.

After the announcement, head coach Chris Beard announced Men’s Basketball signed A.J. Johnson to National Letter of Intent to play next year in the 2023-2024 season. A.J. Johnson from Fresno, California is ranked No. 7 prospect nationally by ON3.
