AUSTIN, Texas — Texas softball head coach Connie Clark announced Monday the addition of two transfers to the UT roster when junior infielder Ciera Schick and Ki’Audra (“KayKay”) Hayter signed with the Longhorns.

Schick heads to Austin after a couple of years at Arizona State, where she played in six games for the Sun Devils last season. Prior to heading to ASU, she starred at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., where she hit .444 as a senior, with 24 hits — including nine doubles, three triples and a pair of home runs — and 15 runs batted in. Schick helped her team reach the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Div. I Championships three times, including a spot in the quarterfinals and a No. 35 national ranking in 2015.

Hayter’s journey from Nacogdoches, Texas to Austin included one-year stops at the University of North Texas in 2016 and Butler (Kan.) Community College in 2017.

By going 84-for-184 (.462) with eight doubles, 10 triples, 51 runs batted in and 84 runs scored last season, the 2017 NJCAA All-America honoree helped BCC reach the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Div. Championship for the second consecutive year.
