Texas succumbs to Baylor 31-24 Game Recap

WACO, Texas — The Jumbotron on McFarland stadium reads “BEARS WIN”. Baylor beats Texas 31-24 in another fourth quarter momentum change that Texas could not recover from.

Texas held the lead until the fourth quarter and had 382 total yards, 280 passing, 102 rushing in the game

Most notable was Bijan Robinson was held to 43 yards rushing averaging (2.5 yards per carry) on 17 attempts and one touchdown. Casey Thompson had the second highest yards rushing with 31 yards on 5 attempts with an average of 6.2 yards per carry. Roschon Johnson carried the ball five times for 23 yards.

Xavier Worthy had the most yards receiving with 115 on four catches and one touchdown. Marcus Washington caught seven passes for 70 yards, Joshua Moore five catches and 64 yards and one touchdown.

Casey Thompson passing rating was 134.5 with 280 yards in 23 catches on 38 attempts (61%) and two touchdowns.

The Texas defense produced 62 tackles (46 solo) with two interceptions. DeMarvion Overshown, Ovie Oghoufo, Jerrin Thompson, Ray Thorton, and Luke Brockermeyer all had five tackles and 15 solos among them.

Cameron Dicker today made history with his three PAT’s and one FG. Dicker became the Texas Longhorns all-time leading scorer as a kicker with 359 points. Dicker has connected on 58 straight PAT’s.
