MORGANTOWN, W.V. — The No. 4 Texas volleyball team improved its record to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in matches against Big 12 opponents Saturday with a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-15, 25-19) at West Virginia.
The victory — the second consecutive sweep for Texas — kept the Longhorns perfect against West Virginia; UT has won all 13 matches between the schools.
Junior Micaya White had a team-leading 14 kills for the Longhorns, along with three digs and a block, while freshman Brionne Butler registered 10 kills, six digs and five blocks.
Sophomore setter Ashley Shook directed the UT offense with a team-high 35 assists, as well as four digs and three blocks. Logan Eggleston added nine kills and three blocks, Katarina Luketich had six kills, and freshman Sydney Peterson had a team-high 13 digs. Peterson has recorded double-digit digs in eight of UT’s 11 matches this season.
