AUSTIN, Texas — In an effort to reduce the long break between games, Texas women's basketball head coach Vic Schaefer decided to make a late addition to the non-conference slate Wednesday, adding a game against Drake, set for Friday night.

The contest will tip off at 7 p.m. on the Longhorn Network. Drake is 3-3 this season with notable wins over Minnesota and Creighton; the Longhorns, have not played a game since Dec. 9.

Texas last took on Idaho, winning 73-48, before last Sunday's game against Tennessee and Thursday's Big 12 opener at home versus Kansas were postponed due to Covid-19 within the Texas program.

Texas is 4-1 on the season, the only loss coming to No. 10 Texas A&M two weeks ago and ranked No. 22 in the newest Associated Press top 25 poll. UT has been playing with just 10 active players, a number that could be reduced to nine if guard Ashley Chevalier stays out with a broken nose.
